INTERVIEW: CORA HILTS ON SUSTAINABLE LIVING



Ever find yourself feeling just too busy to keep on top of a healthy lifestyle? You're not alone! Here the lovely Cora Hilts, founder of awesome sustainable fashion brand Reve ên Vert, shares some of her tips for living healthily and sustainably even when time is at a premium.


How important to you is a healthy lifestyle?
"It's very important as I run my own company and I really need to keep healthy and energised. I love the taste of vegetables and fruits so it's not a hardship for me to eat fresh thankfully, it's what my body is naturally drawn to. Also due to the fact that I work in sustainable fashion I really try to limit my amount of meat since it's such a problematic environmental issue." 

Do you have any tips for busy people trying to keep healthy?
"My own tricks are to always pack my own lunch and to plans week-day meals at the weekend. My fiancé and I always go to our local farmer's markets on Sunday and spend a bit of time before having coffee and discussing what we want to make for dinners. I honestly think planning is the number one thing you can do to make sure your meals are healthy. Also throw in some yoga and green tea!"



What is your advice for someone interested in living more sustainably?
"Try to cut down on your plastic habits is always my first advice. If we keep consuming plastic like we do, there will be more of that in the ocean than fish by 2050. So invest in tote bags and re-usable water bottles, look and see if you have a zero waste or bulk market near you and stop getting straws in your drinks! Also avoid fast fashion and eat just a bit less meat." 
 
What is your favourite Your Superfoods mix?
"Well, it's a close call between Super Green and Chocolate Lover. Super Green I could use in my food every day, but the Chocolate Lover was such a great treat. I had a chocolate smoothie after yoga the other day and it completely hit the spot." 





CORA'S FAVOURITE SUPER GREEN SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 tsp Super Green Mix
  • 1 banana
  • 1 handful of kale
  • 1 cup cashew milk
  • handful frozen blueberries
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp goji berries

DIRECTIONS:

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.
  • Enjoy!
