What to Eat after a Workout

VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE
what to eat after a workout

Consuming the right nutrients
after you exercise is just as important as what you eat before - that's for sure!

Because after your workout session, your body tries to rebuild its glycogen stores and repair and regrow those muscles. Eating the right nutrients soon after you exercise can help your body get this done faster.

Fuel up - asap!
Your body’s ability to rebuild glycogen and protein is enhanced after training, that's why you should consume a combination of carbs and protein as soon as possible.Try to not wait more than 30-45 minutes after your workout!

Get fruity
Fruit is hydrating and full of nutrients and antioxidants, which speeds up recovery. Additionally, fast acting carbs replenish glycogen stores and spike insulin - giving your tired body the energy it needs after an intense workout session!

Get the protein in
Nothing new: our muscles need protein to repair themselves and yes, grow! If you're looking for some clean plant-based proteins, make sure to check out the Skinny Protein mix (plus it contains some greens too!).

Make it easy
You probably want to give your body fuel, that it can digest as fast as possible. Aim for a protein shake or smoothie. and try these two recipes - my favourites when it comes to post-workout fuel!
